The Monkees “Daydream Believer”
January 21, 2008
John Stewart, 68, is responsible for one of the best songs ever written, “Daydream Believer” died today (story). “Daydream Believer” was made famous by everybody’s favorite prefabricated television band–The Monkees! As a tribute to Stewart, I bring you this YouTube video, which the folks who wrote the AOL news piece so graciously borrowed from YouTube themselves.
Here’s Davy Jones, Mickey Dolenz, Mike Nesmith (whose mother invented white-out), and Peter Tork. Growing up, my favorite Monkee was Davy cuz he was so cute and British, but now that I’m older and more mature, I’m fond of Mickey. Of course, they’re all old enough to be my Dads…so it’s a little creepy. I like to remember them young and fun-loving, like in this music video that was made before I was born.
